Shrinking brains are bad, right?
Submitted by scott on Fri, 02/23/2007 - 01:33Not only does alcoholism and alcohol abuse shrink the brain, but research has shown that parental drinking does so as well. Because COAs are more likely to become alcoholics, they get hit with a double brain shrinking whammy. The research states:

February 11th through February 17th is National Children of Alcoholic's week. This little known awareness campaign offers a brief period of time when our collective attention should focus on otherwise invisible suffering. Family alcoholism pervades every corner of society, in every city, village and town, regardless of race, socio-economic class, or education level. And yet, awareness and community-wide discussion of family alcoholism is almost nonexistent.
