Families in Recovery, Statement of PurposeWhat is the purpose of Families in Recovery? Families in Recovery understands that living with an alcoholic/addict can cause both short and long-term harm for the well being of each family member. Families in Recovery will provide services, education, and support to help Families in Crisis become Families in Recovery. This will be done by supporting the individual, the family, and the alcoholic/addict, in that order. We understand that some people prefer to focus on a higher power, while others place their emphasis on the individual, while others take a philosophical approach. Rather than addressing issues of healing from a single perspective, we believe that it is only through respect for individual choice that healing can begin. Families in Recovery emphasizes the following values:
